If you are a NEW student WITHOUT a Swedish personal identity number, and are unable to receive the one-time passcode in Uppsala or Visby, please contact the Servicedesk@uu.se for assistance with a request for a one-time passcode with a simplified ID control process (see the process below). After receiving your one-time passcode, you can create a student account and then register online in the Student Portal.
1. Contact servicedesk@uu.se with a copy of your ID document and household bill to request for a simplified ID verification (through Skype or Zoom, web-camera must be activated)
2. The Service Desk reviews the documents and schedules a video meeting on Skype or Zoom.
3. The one-time code is provided during the video meeting while a confirmation email is sent to you confirming that the one-time code has been communicated.
4. You can activate your student account using the one-time code within 4 hours after receiving it.
5. From August 1, you can register for the course or courses of the programme that you are admitted to.
6. Please note that it may take up to 24 hours after registration before you can access studium.uu.se

Course information

Welcome!

Welcome to the “Reading Course in Business Studies” at Uppsala University Campus Gotland.

The aim of the course is to train participants in writing a literature review for a research topic or question within the field of business studies. This includes specifying a research question or topic, finding relevant literature, reading and analyzing the material, and presenting the results in writing.

During the course, participants start by selecting a question or topic in consultation with the course leader, and then work independently, supported by seminars. The course is taught in English.

Required readings: There are no required course books for this course. Selected articles explaining and illustrating how to write literature reviews can be found under Documents - Course readings; additional articles may be distributed during the course. Beyond that, students will read academic literature related to their research topic.

Given the current situation, in line with decisions made by the Department of Business Studies, the course will be taught as a distance course via zoom.

  • The link to our zoom meeting room, as well as the correct timetable for the course, is included in the course description, which you can find on the course homepage at the Student Portal under “Documents” – “Course description & instructions”.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the information on TimeEdit is no longer updated and may be incorrect. The correct information can be found in the course description.

I hope you will enjoy the course, and look forward to working with you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me (email: birgit.pauksztat@fek.uu.se).

Kind regards,

Birgit Pauksztat
